The Chicago Dogs, the city’s American Association baseball team named after Chicago’s favorite and oldest culinary tradition, will kick off a blockbuster weekend at Impact Field on Friday, July 28 with Miller Lite and Vienna Beef’s Beers and Dogs ultimate pregame party before facing off against the Milwaukee Milkmen. The event is the start of a fun-filled weekend at Impact Field, including fireworks, half-way to St. Patrick’s Day festivities, Squeeze’s birthday celebration, player autographs, pre-game catch on the field and much more.
“It feels incredibly appropriate for an event celebrating hot dogs and beer to culminate at Impact Field with The Chicago Dogs and we’d like to thank the folks at Miller Lite and Vienna Beef for their fantastic partnership,” said Chicago Dogs owner Shawn Hunter. “There’s nothing more Chicago than enjoying a cold beer, a delicious hot dog and an exciting game of baseball with friends and family. We’re proud to be the last stop in what we can see becoming a long-running Chicago tradition.”
Following successful tailgates at Rizzo’s Bar in Wrigleyville and Guaranteed Rate Field, the National Hot Dog Day-themed celebration will round out the month at the award-winning Impact Field in Rosemont (9850 Balmoral Ave., 60018) on Friday, July 28 starting at 4:30pm. Fans of all ages can enjoy live music from local rock band High Stakes, climb around on a life-size Velcro wall, play numerous yard games, take photos with a historic Vienna Beef truck, participate in a Chicago Dogs bucket hat giveaway, have a $2 pregame draft beer and more. Local chefs competing to be named 2023 Hot Dog Champion of Chicago will be crowned following a fan vote leading into the Dogs’ matchup with the Milwaukee Milkmen. Free specialty hot dogs from these pro chefs will also be available. Guests must have a ticket to the game to attend to attend the pregame party.
On Saturday, July 29, the Dogs invite fans to come dressed in their favorite green ensembles and drink green beer to celebrate halfway to St. Patrick’s Day and Squeeze’s birthday, followed by a show-stopping fireworks display presented by Wintrust. A commemorative Dogs hat will be given away to the first 1,000 fans. This game will sell out, so fans are encouraged to get their tickets promptly.
The weekend concludes on Sunday, July 30 with Family Sunday including $3 bottomless popcorn, $3 bottomless fountain drinks and a pregame catch on the field and player autographs from The Chicago Dogs themselves from 1:30-2:15 p.m.
Tickets are currently available for all three days at www.thechicagodogs.com or call (847) 636-5450. Tickets are available for single games, group experiences, premium seats or 2023 season packages.
