Correctional Professionals' Assistance Fund of Indiana Awards Branchville Correctional Employees Scholarship

Training Officer Kurt Harumal received a $4000 Public Safety Scholarship. Harumal is a long time employee of Branchville.  Harumal began his employment at Branchville as a custody officer on June 17, 2002.  In his career he has attained the titles of Correctional Officer, Correctional Sergeant, Correctional Lieutenant, before transferring to Training officer.  CPAFI awards one Public Safety Scholarship a year to Indiana Department of Corrections.  Harumal, recently graduated Magna Cum Laude from Vincennes University with an Associate Degree in Behavioral Science with a concentration in Sociology.  Harumal, plans to continue his studies by obtaining a degree in Law Enforcement with a concentration in Corrections.  Ultimately he plans to pursue his Bachelors Degree in Sociology and Criminal Science.   

Wexford Employee Jean Miller, a Addiction Recovery Specialist at Branchville, received news that her son, Anthony Miller, was to receive a $2000 Supplies Scholarship.  CPAFI, awards 8 total Supplies Scholarships to Indiana employees or family members a year.  Anthony Miller, a Junior at Indiana University Bloomington, will use the scholarship to continue his studies in Biochemistry.  Upon completion of his undergraduate studies, Miller, plans to attend dental school.  Ms. Miller, has been employed at Branchville for 29 years.

Congratulations to both Harumal and Miller, and continued success in all their future educational and professional endeavors.
