Davenport's Piano Bar & Cabaret's July Features Music, Wicker Park Fest Specials, a Benefit and MORE

 Davenport’s Piano Bar & Cabaret, Chicago’s premier location for enjoying music in an intimate setting, announces its roster of July performances in its Cabaret and Piano Bar. Davenport’s, 1383 North Milwaukee Avenue, is open Fridays and Saturdays from 7 p.m. - 12 a.m. and Sundays from 6 - 11 p.m.  Performers, tickets and more are available at DavenportsPianoBar.com.

Please note: All patrons must be 21 years old or older. Masks are suggested for all guests when not seated or drinking

All performances in The Cabaret are ticketed events with a two-drink minimum on the night of the performance.

Julie Koenig Trio

Renaissance Woman Tour

  • Friday, July 8 at 8 p.m.
  • Tickets are $15 with a two-drink minimum 

Julie Koenig is a jazz vocalist and pianist based in Fort Collins, Colorado. She released her first album, Renaissance Woman, last year. Koenig is passionate about increasing the visibility of women in jazz; her album and tour feature all female musicians. The Julie Koenig Trio consists of Julie on vocals and piano, Domi Edson on bass and Mckenna Reeve on drums. This show will feature both original songs and fresh interpretations of jazz standards.

Morgan Montesinos

No One Knows Who I Am … Yet

  • Saturday, July 9 at 8 p.m.
  • Tickets are $18 with a two-drink minimum

Morgan Montesinos, a Chicago singer, actor and voice actor presents this Frank Wildhorn themed cabaret. She navigates what life has been like post-graduation and what it means to start truly discovering yourself through song. Montesinos speaks on both love and loss. Accompanied by Kyra Leigh and featuring special guests.

Miriam Plotkin and Maia Madison

Vagina Reunion: The Vagina Monologues

  • Saturday, July 16 at 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.
  • Tickets are $25 with a two-drink minimum 
  • All proceeds from this performance go to Planned Parenthood.

With the impending demise of the constitutional right to make decisions about our own bodies (i.e. Roe v. Wade), Davenport alums Miriam Plotkin and Maia Madison are suiting up for an encore performance of Eve Ensler’s Vagina Monologues to remind people that the fight is not over. Join them for a night of charity, feminism and be a part of the movement.

Opportunity Knocks

Planes, Trains and Automobiles 

  • Sunday, July 17 at 7 p.m.
  • Tickets are $18 with a two-drink minimum 

The Opportunity Knocks Singers with host Bob Howell and singers Gio Cueto, Barb Smith, Drew Fase, Phyllis Zornig, Sean Stoudt, Gabrielle Valentino, Gunduz, Julia Hawkins, Michelle Lazowski, Patrick Davis and Dan Stetzel on piano perform songs about transportation.

Joey Alvey

The Answer: A Cabaret

  • Friday, July 29 at 8 p.m.
  • Tickets are $15 with a two-drink minimum 

Joey Alvey, an almost 30 year-old queer man, explores moments in his life that led him to this very moment. From his four year-old self to drunken nights in Chicago, there’s a story for every piece of him that makes him whole.

Emily Turner and Mary Rose

There and Back Again

  • Saturday, July 30 at 8 p.m.
  • Tickets are $10 with a two-drink minimum

In this encore production, Emily Turner and Mary Rose return to Davenport’s with a night of favorite songs.

Gaye Klopack

OH! SUSANNAH - A Tribute to Susannah McCorkle

  • Sunday, July 31 at 7 p.m.
  • Tickets are $20 with two-drink minimum

Join Gaye Klopack and music director John Paluch in Klopack's Davenport’s debut featuring some of the music that Susannah McCorkle recorded. Songs by Louis Armstrong, Rodgers & Hart, George Gershwin, Harry Warren, Cole Porter, Johnny Mercer, Harold Arlen, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Fred Coots, Dave Frishberg, Johnny Mandel and Jimmy Van Heusen are included in this Davenport’s premiere.

July Performances in The Piano Bar include:

Wicker Park Fest

July 22 - 24

Davenport’s joins in the excitement of one of Chicago’s most anticipated summer festivals and dubbed "Chicago's Best Street Festival of the Summer " by the Chicago Tribune, Wicker Park Fest, with drink specials and music in The Piano Bar throughout the Fest.

ABOUT DAVENPORT’S PIANO BAR & CABARET

Davenport's Piano Bar and Cabaret is Chicago's premier location for enjoying music in an intimate setting. With two performance spaces, visitors, 21 years old and older, may enjoy performances by national and local talent. The cabaret room has performances most nights showcasing a variety of types of music. The piano bar provides music from an accomplished roster of musicians and a talented serving staff that can both make a drink and sing you a Broadway-caliber song.
