Carroll County – On July 17, 2025, just after 6:00 p.m., the Indiana State Police and Carroll County Sheriff’s Office responded to a fatal crash on State Road 75 near County Road 485 South.
A preliminary investigation by Trooper Schroder revealed that a motorcycle was traveling northbound on State Road 75 just north of County Road 485 South. At that time, a 2017 GMC Sierra was traveling southbound in the same area. For an unknown reason, the motorcycle crossed the center line and struck the GMC head-on.
Despite life-saving efforts, the rider of the motorcycle was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Carroll County Coroner. Their identity will be released by the Carroll County Coroner at a later time.
The driver of the GMC was uninjured in the crash.
Trooper Schroder was assisted at the scene by other troopers from the Lafayette Post, the Indiana State Police Crash Reconstruction Team, the Carroll County Sheriff’s Department, Carroll County EMS, area fire departments, and other first responders.
This remains an active and ongoing investigation by the Indiana State Police Peru Post Crash Reconstruction Team. There is no further information to release at this time.
