The Gary SouthShore RailCats announce Anthony Giammanco as General Manager

Anthony Giammanco has joined the RailCats as the team’s General Manager effective May 31st 2021.  Brian Lyter, President of Salvi Sports Enterprises announced.

Giammanco joins the RailCats from another Salvi Sports Enterprises team, the Schaumburg Boomers, where Giammanco served as the club's Assistant General Manager and has been with the Boomers since 2017 serving as an intern and Box Office Manager before being promoted to Assistant General Manager.

“I have had to opportunity to watch Anthony grow as an executive over the last 5 seasons, and his work ethic and willingness to tackle new challenges head on will serve the RailCats extremely well”. Lyter continued. “He will be a tremendous advocate for the RailCats, City of Gary and Northwest Indiana as he engrains himself into the RailCats operation and the Northwest Indiana community.”

“I am incredibly excited to join team at the Gary SouthShore RailCats!  I’d like to thank RailCats Owner’s Pat and Lindy Salvi as well as Brian Lyter for this incredible opportunity to lead the RailCats and continue to be a part of the Salvi Sports family,” said Giammanco. “I look forward to working with the Northwest Indiana communities to provide a fun and memorable experience at the Steel Yard. “

Additionally, long-time Head Groundskeeper, Noah Simmons, has been promoted to Assistant General Manager/Head Groundskeeper.  Simmons will continue overseeing the RailCats playing surface and stadium operations and will add his expertise into the Food & Beverage and Special Events departments for the RailCats as well.

“Noah has been a critical part of our Front Office team for a number of years, and expanding his role to Assistant General Manager was long overdue. He will continue keeping the new playing surface pristine but will lend his experience to enhance operations in a number of other departments.” Lyter said.
