HIP Work Requirements Pre-Screening Tool
To help HIP members determine whether they may be subject to or exempt from the upcoming requirements, FSSA has launched the HIP Work Requirements Pre-Screening Tool, available at myfssa.in.gov in the “Am I Eligible to Receive Benefits?” section of the FSSA Benefits Portal.
The tool asks individuals to provide information about:
- Applicable exemptions
- Health-related factors
- Work activities
- Income
After submitting their information, users can immediately see whether they may be required to meet HIP Work Requirements. All information is anonymous and never stored or shared; it is used only to generate screening results for that session.
Partner Toolkit
To support statewide awareness efforts ahead of the January 1, 2027 start date, FSSA has created a comprehensive partner toolkit at myfssa.in.gov.
The toolkit includes:
- Social media and print materials
- FAQs
- Informational videos
- Additional outreach resources
Partners are encouraged to share these materials through their networks to help ensure consistent, clear communication to HIP members. Additional resources will be added to the toolkit in the months leading up to January 1, 2027.
About HIP Work Requirements
Beginning January 2027, HIP members ages 19–64 who are not exempt will be required to complete 80 hours each month through work, part-time education, job training, or community service. These requirements aim to support a balanced, values-driven approach that pairs compassion with personal responsibility, ensuring access to healthcare is supported by employment, training, education, and community engagement.
