Indiana Dunes State Park Brings Back Park Plays!

Park Plays features free family entertainment on the shores of Lake Michigan on summer Thursday evenings. The 2020 season features:

July 23, 2020 – “Sandy Showtunes” presented by Supercharged Trio with the Reasoner Family Singers. Supercharged Trio is made up of three boys aged 8-14 from Dyer, IN who each play violin, ukulele, and other stringed instruments along with signing. The Reasoner Family Singers from Schererville join to round out this multi-generational night of Broadway on the Beach.

July 30, 2020 – “Wildwood Flower” a night of traditional and original folk music presented by Cory Goodrich with special guest Supercharged Trio. Cory Goodrich is a Jeff award winning actress, singer, songwriter from Chicago. She has performed in Ragtime, Ring of Fire, The Addams Family, The Christmas Schooner, An American in Paris and more.

August 6 & 13, 2020 – “Disney’s Moana Jr” presented by Seedlings Theatre Company of Hobart, IN. Performed by actors all under the age of 18, this live musical follows the beloved movie tale of a young girl’s quest to save her village and learn important life lessons along the way. Presented by special arrangement with Music Theatre International.

Park Plays takes place at 6:30 pm on Thursday evenings at Indiana Dunes State Park. There is no fee for the performance, however, the State Park per car entry fee still applies. Patrons are encouraged to pack a picnic, grab a blanket or beach chairs and join in the free family entertainment. Performances last 45 minutes to one hour and in case of inclement weather are held at one of the park’s shelters. Follow signs in the park.

In light of COVID-19 and Governor Holcomb’s social distancing recommendations, guests are asked to please maintain six feet of distance between their party and neighboring guests, wear masks, wash hands frequently, and use hand sanitizer.
