In game two between the Gary SouthShore RailCats and the Milwaukee Milkmen at Franklin Field in Milwaukee, the Milkmen topped the RailCats 11-2 to take a series victory.

The first five Milkmen batters reached safely on four singles and a walk, recording five hits in the opening frame as the Milkmen jumped out to a 3-0 lead after one.

To lead off the second, nine-hole hitter Anibal Sierra sent a solo home run over the left-field fence. Another run would score later in the inning after a mishandled ground ball that brought home Adam Brett Walker II.

The reigning MVP Walker II had a 4-for-5 game at the plate in the winning Milkmen effort as he recorded two singles and two doubles and scored four runs.

While the RailCats would add two in the third on a Jesus Marriaga single and a Daniel Lingua sac-fly, the ‘Cats would be held silent for the rest of the ball game.

The loss went to RailCats starter Josh Vincent who threw 2.2 innings on the mound with five hits, five runs, four of which were earned, a walk and three strikeouts.

Just when Gary SouthShore thought they had a chance to come back, the Milkmen cranked four more runs in the fourth inning to take a 9-2 lead after Yoel De Leon came into the game for Gary SouthShore.

De Leon would hold Milwaukee silent until the eighth as they would add two more in their last trip to the plate to extend the 11-2 lead. The relief pitcher threw 5.1 innings for the RailCats and allowed six hits, six runs, four walks and five strikeouts.

Milkmen starter Ryan Zimmerman notched his second win against the RailCats this season with six innings of two-run baseball, allowing four hits and three walks with eight strikeouts.

Every Milken starter recorded a hit in the win while Walker II, Aaron Hill, and David Washington each recorded multi-hit efforts.

Game three between the Gary SouthShore RailCats and the Milwaukee Milkmen is scheduled for tomorrow, July 18 at 1 p.m. to culminate the series at Franklin Field in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
