“South Bend Civic Theatre premieres local community production of hit musical Waitress”

The South Bend Civic Theatre presents Waitress, book by Jessie Nelson, music and lyrics by Sara Bareilles

Waitress is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI). All authorized performance materials are also supplied by MTI. www.mitshows.com

Stuck in a small town and loveless marriage, Jenna, a waitress at Joe's Pie Diner, tries to escape her everyday life through the pies she expertly bakes. After finding out she is unexpectedly pregnant, She enters a nearby baking contest in hopes of using the prize money to open her own pie shop. Supported by a cast of sometimes quirky friends and a surprise romance, the waitress works towards her dream of a fulfilling life, one pie at a time.

Based on a 2007 indie film, Waitress features music and lyrics by Sara Bareilles and a book by Jessie Nelson.

Directed by Ashley Coia
