For the fifteenth year, ten of Chicago’s finest burger purveyors set up their grills at the intersection of Belmont and Damon in Roscoe Village to compete for the title of Chicago’s Best Burger. Past fest favorites like Byron’s Hot Dogs, Fatso’s Last Stand, Reggies and Select Cut Steakhouse2 will compete against up and comers like Epic Burger, and The StopAlong. Roscoe Village Burger Fest is in the heart of Roscoe Village, 2000 W Belmont Ave. Friday, July 15 from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., Saturday, July 16 and Sunday, July 17 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Festgoers can indulge in an array of grilled burgers with classic to unexpected toppings, innovative vegan burgers, and Sam Adams beverages. Also new to the fest are Lola's Coney Island and Declan's Irish Pub adding a wide range of unique flavors.
Competing restaurants have two opportunities to win a Best Chicago Burger title. Celebrity judges Christine from The Chicago Good Life, Samantha Esposito from Chicago Burger Bible, and 32nd Ward Alderman Scott Waguespack will sample burgers on Saturday and name a victor for the “Critics Choice Award.” But festgoers can also help secure the bragging rights of their favorite burger joint by voting by text all weekend. Votes will be tallied, and the “People’s Choice Award” winner announced on Sunday evening.
In addition to a multitude of tasty burgers, Roscoe Village Burger Fest boasts two stages of live music featuring crowd favorite cover bands like Rod Tuffcurls and the Bench Press, Trippin Billies, and Dancing Queen: An ABBA Salute. The festival promises fun for burger-lovers of all ages with a family-friendly Kids Zone as well as a Dog Zone with an agility course and pools for pups.
A $10 suggested fest donation benefits the invaluable programs and services of the Lakeview Roscoe Village Chamber of Commerce, which support local small businesses and organizations throughout the year.
