The Munster Police Department and Choice Community Council would like to thank the record number of participants who came out to support Munster’s 30th Annual National Night Out Celebration on August 5th. This year’s event included our highest attendance while also attracting our highest number of booth participants, school groups, and participants ever.
For our 30th year and in addition to the many fun and exciting activities that took place that evening, we displayed photos throughout the evening on a large board from the last number of years of National Night Out events in Munster, along with some positive video messages from celebrities to our residents.
We also held pre-events the week before which included a Child Safety Seat Check, Police Volunteer Appreciation Dinner, Senior Safety Bingo Event, Canned Food Drive, Bike Safety Rodeo, Family Movie Night, and the 4th Annual Block Party Contest. Block Unity Award signs were presented at the main celebration on August 5th.
This event would not have been successful without the support of our dedicated volunteers who planned and worked the event that evening, and we also appreciate the large number of sponsors (displayed below) and our hard-working firefighters, Public Works, and Parks employees.
We would like to especially thank Greg Kaplan of Krazy Kaplan’s Fireworks for his continued, generous sponsorship of our closing fireworks show (for the past 11 years). This is always a great way for us to end the evening and his support is very much appreciated.
