TheatreSquared announced today that its planned production of The Garbologists—originally slated for the 2025–26 Season—will be rescheduled for the following year, now set to take the stage in the 2026–27 Season. The change comes as a result of scheduling conflicts, and the company emphasized that the production remains an essential part of its upcoming lineup.
“We love this play,” said Executive Director Shannon A. Jones. “It’s smart, funny, and incredibly human. We’re committed to giving it the spotlight it deserves, and shifting it to the 2026–27 season ensures that we can do just that.”
Written by Lindsay Joelle, The Garbologists is a heartfelt and unexpected story about two sanitation workers from very different backgrounds learning to navigate partnership, purpose, and what we throw away.
“This is a piece we’ve been excited to share for a long time,” said T2 Artistic Director Robert Ford. “It speaks to connection, dignity, and finding common ground—stories we know our audiences respond to deeply.”
