The Towle Theater is pleased to announce their last show of the 2026 Season with Misery written by William Goldman, based on the novel by Stephen King. The production is Directed by Jim LaPietra.
Based on Stephen King’s acclaimed novel, Misery is a gripping psychological thriller that explores obsession, control, and the terrifying consequences of fandom taken too far. After a devastating car accident, successful novelist Paul Sheldon wakes in the secluded home of Annie Wilkes, a former nurse and his self-proclaimed “number one fan.” What initially seems like a fortunate rescue quickly becomes a nightmare when Annie’s admiration for Paul and his work takes a dark and dangerous turn. Trapped, injured, and dependent on his increasingly unpredictable captor, Paul is forced to write while desperately searching for a way to escape. Filled with mounting tension, dark humor, and unexpected twists, Misery is a harrowing battle of wills and survival that will keep audiences on the edge of their seats.
Making their Towle debuts are Kyle Cassady (Bourbonnais, IL), Guy Sullivan (Roselle, IL), and Tammy White (Woodridge, IL).
Misery runs September 25th - October 11th. Fridays 7:30pm, Saturday, September 26th at 7:30pm & remaining Saturdays & Sundays at 2pm.The box office opens 1 hour prior to performance time. Tickets are $30 in advance and $35 at the door. Reservations must be paid for in advance. They are non-refundable and non-exchangeable. Group rates are available. There is no late seating. Please arrive no later than 15 minutes prior to curtain. If you arrive after curtain, you will not be seated until intermission.
