(Petroleum) Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating an off-road vehicle (ORV) accident that injured a Wells County man and his female passenger.

Yesterday (5/10/2021) at approximately 3:20 p.m., officers responded to the area of the 3000 block of County Road 900 S.

Logan Walker, 19, of Bluffton, was operating a side-by-side ORV on the roadway when he lost control and was ejected. The passenger, Abigail Enochs, 19, of Petroleum, guided the ORV to a stop in a nearby field.

Neither Walker nor Enochs was using seatbelts or wearing helmets.

Walker was transported by ambulance to Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne for treatment of a head and leg injuries. Enochs was transported as a precaution to be checked out.

Conservation Officers were assisted by the Wells County Sheriff’s Office, Wells County EMS, and Nottingham Fire.

Conservation officers remind everyone to always wear a helmet and protective riding gear when operating or riding on an ORV and to always use a seatbelt or safety harness when present.
