In November 2020, thanks to the support of Gary residents, the Gary Community School Corporation, won a community-based school referendum. The backing from community stakeholders means more opportunities and support for students and the first raise for Gary teachers in more than a decade.
Chicago Fire FC announced today that defender/midfielder Mauricio Pineda has been called up to the U.S. U-23 Men’s National Team. Pineda will join the U.S. U-23 MNT for a training camp in Bradenton, Fla. from Jan. 9-24 that will run in conjunction with the senior U.S. Men’s National Team’s January Camp.

Governor Eric J. Holcomb and INDOT Commissioner Joe McGuinness today announced the next call for projects in the Community Crossings grant program is now open. Community Crossings is part of Gov. Holcomb’s Next Level Roads program, a 20-year, fully funded plan to enhance Indiana’s highways and local roads by awarding communities grants for shovel-ready local road construction projects.

In late December, members of the Cobblestone Homeowners Association of Munster (townhomes) provided a generous donation of $300.00 towards the Munster Police Department’s Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) Program. Their donation will help to purchase curriculum items for the almost 2,000 D.A.R.E. students this year and we greatly appreciate their support!
