Yesterday, Emergency Manager Dr. Paige McNulty announced that school would resume Monday, August 17, 2020. The recent stormed knocked out phone and internet access in the District, which impacted the ability to launch e-learning.

Arts Midwest announced today that it is adding $1.5 million in funding to the United States Regional Arts Resilience Fund thanks to an anonymous donor. This landmark gift will support additional small arts organizations in the Midwest, prioritizing rural communities and arts organizations led by and/or serving indigenous people and people of color.

Footlight Players has announced that the opening production of STEEL MAGNOLIAS, that was scheduled to open on September 4th, has been cancelled until further notice.

As the summer break comes to an end, students across western Indiana are starting their return to school.  With that return to school, motorists should expect an increased amount of school bus traffic during the morning and afternoon commutes, and therefore the need to plan those commutes accordingly to allow for extended travel time.  Also to be expected, Troopers with the Indiana State Police Lafayette Post will be hitting the roads to watch for school bus stop arm violations.
